Regular Full or Part Time Staff Members may enroll in Spectrum’s health care plans, with coverage effective from the first day of the month coincident with or next following the individual’s date of employment, as more specifically provided by the benefit plan documents.

Disability Income Replacement

Spectrum provides benefits to cover at least partial replacement of income in the event of both short and longer-term illness or injuries that prevent a Staff Member from performing his/her normal duties at Spectrum. These benefits consist of three components:

  • Accruable sick-leave;
  • Short-term salary continuation; and
  • Long Term Disability Insurance (LTD).

Group Term Life Insurance

Regular Full and Part Time Staff Members’ beneficiaries are eligible for life insurance benefits in the event of an eligible Staff Member’s death.

Section 125 Plan

Spectrum offers Staff Members a pre-tax benefits contribution option known as a Section 125 plan.

A Section 125 plan is a benefit plan that allows you to make contributions toward premiums for qualified insurance plans on a "before tax," rather than an "after tax" basis. Your premium contributions are deducted from your gross pay before income tax and Social Security are calculated.

COBRA

The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (“COBRA”) is a federal law that enables you or your enrolled dependents to continue medical and dental coverage in the event that you or your enrolled dependents lose coverage as the result of certain qualifying events.
