Mayumi joined the team at Spectrum in 2010 having relocated here after several years of college and travel. Born and raised in Rhode Island, Mayumi graduated in May 2003 with a Degree in Mathematics and Physics from Rhode Island College. After graduating, Mayumi spent a year in Montana teaching Physics at Montana State University before returning to college for a Masters Degree in Mathematics at Texas A&M University. She then moved to Kyoto, Japan where she spent two years teaching English as a foreign language. From there she spent a short spell in India before returning to the US and relocating to the Pacific Northwest.
Mayumi is currently working towards her designation as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
Along with a love for live music, Mayumi is an avid hiker and is enjoying her northwest experience by working her way through all of the trails in the Snoqualmie National Forest. In her quiet time, she enjoys origami, crochet, and vegetarian cooking.
