Maria (Mary) J. Koumantaros is a Principal and Director of Spectrum Pension Consultants, Inc.  She joined the Company's Board of Directors and has been a senior member of the organization since starting with the firm in June 1981.

During the course of her 30 year-career as an employee benefits practitioner, Mary has performed a wide range of duties including client consulting, plan management and financial accounting, work product quality assurance, and mentoring associate consultant colleagues.

Dedicated to giving back to the community which has afforded her much success over the years, Mary was a co-founding member of the South Sound Cancer Awareness and Research Expansion (SS CARE), and served as its first President in 2008.  She is actively involved in raising money to support cancer research initiatives and a wide range of other local philanthropic endeavors.  Mary serves on the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Parish Council Board, is active in Philoptochos, a charitable organization that reaches out to needy people in the community, the Tacoma Narrows Rotary Club, and Fircrest Golf Club.

Prior to joining Spectrum, Mary taught mathematics at Curtis Junior High School in University Place, Washington from September 1971 to June 1981.  She earned a Bachelors of Science in mathematics and a teaching certificate from the University of Puget Sound.
